Moon-landing conspiracy claim refuted by video game graphics
The makers of state-of-the-art video game graphics technology say they have used it to debunk those who continue to think the United States' manned moon landings were a hoax filmed on a movie set. Nvidia, makers of top-of-the line graphics cards for PC gaming, put its Maxwell architecture on the case of explaining how the scene of Buzz Aldrin descending the ladder of Apollo 11's lunar module was lighted when it happened. Conspiracy theorists allege that, with Aldrin in the shadow of the Sun (off to the right and behind the lunar module) the only way he could be lit would be by some other auxilliary light source — like studio lighting.

Microsoft delays Xbox One's China launch
The Xbox One's launch in China has been delayed, Microsoft says, to give the console "a bit more time to deliver the best experiences possible for our fans" there. Originally slated to launch Tuesday, that date now has been pushed to "by the end of this year," Microsoft said. "At Xbox, we pride ourselves on delivering first-rate gaming and entertainment experiences, and to allow us to deliver on that promise, we need to reschedule the launch of Xbox One," a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement to Polygon.

Mann goes through the video, auto-tuning Dr. Sommers' voice and setting the whole thing to music. "Ad hominem," he croons, after Sommers makes a cheap shot at "hipsters with degrees in cultural studies." Later in the song, he responds to Sommers "critique" with "So you're saying games are sexist, and that boys will be boys.

Why Scalebound for Xbox One may be unlike anything Platinum Games has done before
Scalebound, the Xbox One-exclusive action game from Bayonetta and The Wonderful 101 developer Platinum Games, is unlike anything the studio has done before in terms of building an action game, game director Hideki Kamiya says. Don't look to games like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta for a "template" by which to think of the mysterious Scalebound. Kamiya, who was joined by producer Atsushi Inaba and creative producer JP Kellams at a Tokyo Game Show presentation this week, admitted he couldn't say much about Scalebound at this point.

World of Warcraft's upcoming expansion might break the game, and that's okay
When World of Warcraft's fifth expansion pack, Warlords of Draenor, releases on Nov. 13, it's not likely to have perfect balance. Stockton is the lead designer on Warlords of Draenor's new garrison system, one of the biggest additions to World of Warcraft with the expansion and the source of many of the items that have a good chance of producing surprising and unexpected effects. The story of Warlords of Draenor involves the heroes of World of Warcraft journeying to an alien planet and an alternate reality to stop an invasion of Azeroth.
