Police procedural "Powers" is to become Sony's first serving of TV content for the PlayStation Network, adapted from the acclaimed Eisner Award-winning graphic novel series. The series has been on Sony's books since it was first optioned in 2001, with a previous production attempt taking place in 2011. But where Fox's FX Network might have originally viewed "Powers" as a replacement for "The Shield," Sony's new venture is perhaps better placed to tap "Heroes" -- especially with cinema franchise "The Avengers" in full swing. Accordingly, this revamped effort recruits writer Charlie Huston, author of adolescent crime fiction caper "The Shotgun Rule," spy novel "Skinner" and a number of Marvel comics, who is a self-professed fan of "Powers."
