Video games trick you into thinking you're in control, and that's bad You see, video games expect a lot of you, but deliver very little actual agency in return. Despite their interactivity, video games don't really give much meaningful control to gamers. True agency is so elusive in video games, that even books seem to offer more of it to its readers.
