This Country Wants You to Know How Sexist Your Favorite Video Game Is

Need another post-GamerGate reminder of just how problematic the misogynistic portrayal and treatment of women is in gaming culture? News broke this week that an update to Grand Theft Auto V, the popular crime game that grossed $1 billion in three days upon its release last fall will allow players to have first-person sex with prostitutes. After a player’s male character is finished doing the deed, he can choose to beat or kill the female sex worker and take back the money he paid her.
