A beta version of hotly-anticipated "Destiny" video game will launch on Internet-linked PlayStation and Xbox consoles this month. PlayStation console owners will be able to explore "Destiny" beginning on July 17, and the beta version will spread to Xbox consoles on July 23, according to publisher Activision and game maker Bungie Studios. Playing the game will require redemption codes obtained by pre-ordering, along with subscriptions to online gaming networks for PlayStation or Xbox consoles. "Destiny" will be officially released on September 9 for play on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles as well as their predecessors, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
