Mad Max has had a weird, twisty road returning to the gaming world, but the end is finally in sight. Warner Bros. has announced that Avalanche's open-world Mad Max game will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and SteamOS on Sept. 1 in North America and Sept. 4 in the UK. Notably absent from that list are the previously announced Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, which Game Informer reports have been cancelled. Here's the short version: Circa 2008, God of War 2 director Cory Barlog was working on a videogame tie-in to a new animated Mad Max movie.
